Laura Pantin, creator and founder of LearningBilingually, is currently a fourth-grade dual language educator in a two-way immersion program in South Florida. She previously taught Kindergarten dual language for four years in the same program. She obtained a Master of Arts in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Teachers College Columbia University in 2015.

Laura also has experience in educational research in the field of bilingual education. During her time at Teachers College Columbia University, Laura worked as a Research Assistant for two years under Dr. Patricia Martinez-Alvarez, who specializes in inclusive bilingual/bicultural education. Laura co-authored the article “Creating Shared Access: Bilingual Teachers and Children Using Technology to Multimodally Negotiate Understandings in Science and Language”, which was published in Spring 2018 in the Multiple Voices for Ethnically Diverse Exceptional Learners Journal. Laura has also written a critical review in the Worlds of Words Review: Reading Across Cultures electronic publication for the book “All for the Better: A Story of El Barrio”, in their Volume VI, Issue 4 on global diasporas.

Laura is passionate about the field of bilingual education and specifically dual language programming. She created LearningBilingually as a way to disseminate information on the powerful advantages and the inherit importance of bilingualism and to share resources, ideas and personal experiences as an educator and advocate in the field.
